The answer to your first question, or at least most folks, is how did we come up with the name?
Simply put, my wife Kim, and I have five children.
I started becoming the family grill meister when I was about 12 and built my first pit in North Carolina when I was 17. I learned a lot at the original Sonny’s in Gainesville, Florida where I am from and country folks in VA, NC, and GA as well as many others throughout the south.
As I grilled and smoked nearly every meat you can think of I learned what worked and what did not. Over the years as I barbecued for charity and church events as well as fundraisers, family, friends, weddings, etc. Many friends and barbecue fans told me I needed to open a restaurant.
So here we are.
Our philosophy is simple; serve competition worthy barbecue,every day. Our sides are made from scratch and have been family tested. The sauce took me approximately 10 years to design. It’s slightly sweet with a back end bite that does not overwhelm your palate. My family and I thank you for enjoying our food and I hope that my years of experience and our love of creating the best barbecue and sides you may have ever had keeps you coming back for more.
